Import and export
Bring an existing AI register into CognaOne in one upload, export it again without loss, and roll back any upload as a whole.
01UploadA spreadsheet in your own format or the CognaOne template.
02Dry runCounts of new, changed, unchanged and rejected rows, with the reasons for each rejection.
03CommitOne confirmation applies the whole upload.
04Roll backUndo any committed upload as a whole, newest first.
How matching works#
Rows are matched by a durable source key, never by people reviewing records one by one.
| Row | What happens |
|---|---|
| Unchanged | Nothing |
| Changed | The same record is updated; the history shows the import as the source |
| New | A new record is created |
| Rejected | Listed with its reason; the rest of the upload is unaffected |
History stays true#
Dates from your file, such as when a system went live or when an owner was appointed, are stored as effective dates. The time of the upload and the person who ran it are recorded as they really were; CognaOne never invents a past event.
Export#
| Export | For |
|---|---|
| Native export | A lossless copy of your data: identifiers, source keys, role history, effective dates and provenance survive a round trip |
| Australian Government AI register template | Board and peer reporting in a familiar shape, confirmed facts only |
